I purchased the Febreze Plug Scent Booster in May 2025 after using Febreze wall plug-ins for several years and deciding it was time for a change.

This is a corded Febreze air freshener diffuser designed to sit on a counter or tabletop rather than plug directly into a wall outlet. That design gives it more flexible placement and better airflow than a standard wall plug-in in some rooms. purchased the Febreze plug scent booster in May of 2025. I had been using the wall plug-ins for a few years. I decided it was time for a change. I chose the plug scent booster because it had a cord, which lets you place it on a counter or tabletop rather than being against the wall in an electrical outlet with limited airflow. It has held up well over the past nine months. It has the same three settings as the wall units, although I like the Boost feature, when activated with the press of a button delivers about 40 minutes of increased scent intensity. The cartridges are the same as those used in the wall units and they last a fair amount of time. One thing they don’t tell you is that you have to actually open it to see the amount of scent oil left in the cartridge. You can’t tell how much is left at a glance, when the cartridge runs out a little blue light begins to flash. My only real complaint is that I could only find that it comes in two colors: black or white. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a counter or tabletop air freshener.

I had already been using the Febreze wall plug-ins for a few years, so I had a good point of comparison when I bought this one. I chose the Plug Scent Booster because the cord lets you place it on a counter or tabletop instead of being stuck against the wall in an outlet with limited airflow. That turned out to be the main advantage for me.

It has held up well over the past nine months. It includes the same three settings as the wall units, and I especially like the Boost feature, which gives about 40 minutes of increased scent intensity at the press of a button. The refill cartridges are the same as those used in the wall units, and they last a fair amount of time. One limitation is that you have to open the unit to check how much scent oil is left because you cannot really tell at a glance. When the cartridge runs out, a small blue light begins to flash.

Final Verdict

After about nine months of use, the Febreze Plug Scent Booster has proven to be a practical upgrade over standard wall plug-ins for rooms where countertop or tabletop placement works better. If you want a Febreze air freshener with more flexible placement and a useful Boost mode, this is an easy product for me to recommend.
